Newtown Township, PA - On December 20, 2019 at 2:35 p.m., Newtown Township Police were advised of a retail theft that had just occurred at Acme Market. Employees observed a white female, later identified as Carole Marshall, who had filled re-usable shopping bags with items and walked past the cash register area and out of the store. When asked by employees, she was unable to produce a receipt. She then left the store, leaving the merchandise behind. The value was $354.30. On December 27, 2019, Marshall did contact police and wanted to cooperate, but didn't come into Headquarters until January 22, 2020 when she provided a written statement and explained the situation regarding the retail theft. On February 25, 2020, Marshall was processed and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Petrucci. Bail was set at ten percent of $40,000.00.
