On September 13, 2017 at approximately 5:07 p.m., Newtown Township Police were dispatched to a residence in the 1100 block of Swamp Road for a shooting that occurred. Investigation revealed that 31 year-old Elizabeth Hegadorn, an extended family member of the residents arrived in her orange Honda Element and went inside the residence where she intentionally fired two rounds from a handgun in the direction of the victim and fled the scene prior to the arrival of police. The victim was not injured.
Hegadorn lives in Upper Southampton Township so the Upper Southampton Township Police Department were advised to be on the lookout for Hegadorn. The Upper Southampton Township Police Department located Hegadorn operating her orange Honda Element in the area of her residence on Carlin Drive and she was taken into custody without incident. Hegadorn was later arraigned on Attempted Murder and related charges before Judge Gambardella. A bail of $1,000,000 was set at 10% and Hegadorn was transported to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
