On Wednesday, December 25th, 2019, at approximately 4:50 PM, a vehicle traveling south on Upper Stump Road in the 700 block, left the roadway and crash head-on into a utility pole; this resulted the struck pole being destroyed and a second pole being knocked down. Said pole, wires, cables and debris were all over the roadway, which made it impassable. Both poles had to be replaced; PECO and Verizon responded to make repairs. Upper Stump Road was closed throughout the night and into the morning hours the next day; during this time one house was left without power during repairs. This crash was the result of distracted driving and luckily the driver was not injured.
