Message from the Chief of Police

ARREST MADE (June 26th. 2020) CONCERNING THIS INCIDENT.  Click HERE to view the arrest information.

I wanted to briefly address the various rumors being discussed on a variety of social media platforms.  Some of the messages indicate that an off-duty Philadelphia Police Officer was followed home to Hilltown Township & that his personal vehicle was set on fire.  Other posts are stating that a vehicle was targeted due to a thin blue line flag being displayed on the vehicle.  The truth is that the Hilltown Township Police Department is investigating a vehicle arson and suspicious person incidents that occurred in the Orchard Hill development which are believed to be connected.  We are further investigating whether the vehicle was specifically targeted due to the owner being a first responder; however, it was not owned by a police officer.  Furthermore, we have identified the suspicious subject that fled on foot in the area at the time of these incidents and he is now a suspect in the arson.  The investigation is continuing.  We do not believe there is any threat to the general public but do ask that all residents report any suspicious incidents when they occur.  In addition, anyone with information regarding this incident or any residents in the Orchard Hill development with a surveillance camera are asked to contact Hilltown Police at 215-453-6011 or submit a Tip via this Page.  Thank you!
