On August 25th. 2020, Hilltown Police initiated an investigation into Deceptive Business Practices. It was reported that an eighty-three-year-old township resident was approached by members of Saveway Paving of Northampton County, while she was outside working in her garden. The subject advised they had some left-over black top. They offered to repair the cracks she had in her driveway and use up the remaining material. The resident was under the impression the cost was going to be about $300.00 Upon completion of the work, the resident was presented a bill for $5,500.00 They pressured the resident into signing off on the job and were aggressive and stern about getting paid. The victim paid the $5,500.00.
After a lengthy investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained for Richard Norman Squires, Jr. of Saveway Paving related to this incident.
