Police in Bucks County Conducting NYE Roving DUI Patrols

Five Bucks County police departments will be conducting enhanced roving DUI patrols into the early morning hours of 2019.

Additional officers from Plumstead, Upper Southampton, Warrington, Middletown and Richland townships will hit the streets at 10 p.m. Monday and patrol their respective jurisdictions for intoxicated drivers until 3 a.m. New Year’s Day.

“Please celebrate the New Year safely with friends and family. Don’t drink or do drugs and drive,” said Bucks County District Attorney Matthew D. Weintraub. “Police departments all over the county are on high alert for DUIs tonight. If you drive hammered, you’ll get nailed.”

Anyone planning to celebrate should also plan to stay off the road or find a sober ride home.

Aimed at keeping roads safe by preventing drunk and intoxicated driving, enhanced DUI patrols are funded by a PennDOT grant.
