Man Held for Trial on 3d-Degree Murder Charge in Fatal Crash

Joseph A. Mancinelli Jr., 24, was held for trial yesterday on charges of third-degree murder, homicide by vehicle while DUI, reckless endangerment, drug possession, driving under suspension and related offenses at a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Mark Douple.

Mancinelli is accused of killing Patricia MacAllister, 68, of Doylestown Township in a head-on collision March 23 on Sandy Ridge Road not far from her home. The charges allege that he was passing another vehicle illegally against a double-yellow line when his vehicle struck MacAllister's sedan.

Mancinelli's blood tested positive for amphetamine, methamphetamine and oxycodone, police said. He remains in the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1 million bail and is scheduled for arraignment May 19 at the Bucks County Justice Center.
