Investigation of Police-Involved Shooting Continues, Subject in Serious but Stable Condition

Detectives from the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office continue to investigate a police-involved shooting that occurred late Thursday in Doylestown Township.

The individual injured by gunfire, a 60-year-old male, remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition. Police continue to monitor his status.

The male was the subject of a police response to a residence in the unit block of Carriage Drive, where officers were dispatched at about 8:12 p.m. Thursday for a report of a man who was armed, upset and damaging property at the location.

Upon police arrival at the scene, it was found the man had barricaded inside a residence and a standoff ensued with police attempting to negotiate his surrender. In the course of the incident, the man was shot by police.

No police officers or other members of the public were injured during the incident.

All shootings involving police officers in Bucks County are investigated by county detectives and reviewed by District Attorney Matthew D. Weintraub. County detectives, parallel to the shooting investigation, are also conducting a criminal investigation into the underlying incident.
