CIT Training

Officers Jeff Watson and Greg Kutys completed Crisis Intervention Training (CIT), a 40-hour course. CIT is a collaborative effort between law enforcement, local agencies and the mental health community to ensure mental health crisis situations are responded to with respect for the person and proper consideration of mental illness.  CIT can reduce officer and subject injury, connect individuals in mental health crisis to appropriate mental health services, decrease use of force and possibly decrease the number of arrests of people with mental illness.  Officers Watson and Kutys bring the Department to 80% of officers who have completed CIT training.
