Police were dispatched to Pet Valu, Doylestown, at approximately 1555 hours on 12/23/2018 for the report of a group of customers attempting to use counterfeit bills to make a purchase. When police arrived an employee immediately identified a male still in the store as one of the persons making the attempt, later identified as Raheem Burgess after falsely identifying himself as someone else. A search found a Pet Valu receipt and five (5) additional counterfeit $20 bills. Burgess was arrested and arraigned before Judge Seaman, bail set at 10% of $100,000 and remanded to Bucks County Prison.
Criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
