Bristol Township, by and through the Bristol Township Civil Service Commission, is creating a New Hire Eligibility List in order to hire for the position of Bristol Township Police Officer in accordance with the Bristol Township Civil Service Rules and Regulations.  All interested candidates must first participate in the Bucks County police officer consortium test being administered by the Bucks County Police Chief’s Association on Saturday, May 22, 2021.  All applicants for the consortium test must be at least 21 years of age, in good physical condition, a US citizen in good standing, and be a high school graduate or possess a GED.  All applications must be completed online. Interested individuals can find applications at:  www.policeapp.com. Applications must be completed no later than Friday, May 14, 2021, 11:59 pm. (Eastern) or when testing capacity is reached, whichever date is earlier.  Applications received after this date and time will not be considered.  After successful completion of the consortium’s physical agility test and written examination, Bristol Township will contact the successful applicants and require the submission of a separate application for the position of Bristol Township Police Officer.  Applicants for the position of Police Officer with Bristol Township must score a minimum of 70% on the consortium’s written examination.  In addition, applicants will be given an oral examination that shall involve questioning applicants on how they would handle situations relevant to police work and undergo a physical fitness test, a polygraph test and a background investigation.  After an applicant has been extended an offer of employment, the appointment shall be contingent upon the applicant passing a physical and psychological examination.  The creation of a Bristol Township New Hire police officer list and the hiring of police officers shall be done in accordance with the Bristol Township Civil Service Rules and Regulations.  A copy of the Bristol Township Civil Service Rules and Regulations is available for examination during normal business hours in the office of the Township Manager at 2501 Bath Road, Bristol, Pennsylvania.  The Township of Bristol is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
