The DARE Program returned to Bristol Borough Schools this year. The program was reinstated with the support of the Bristol Borough Council and the Bristol Borough School District. 137 Fifth graders took part in the program from the Snyder Girotti Elementary School and the Saint Marks Catholic School. Sergeant Carlos Rivera delivered the 10 week program that teaches the students the dangers of illicit drugs and the consequences that come with choosing to do them. The biggest benefit is providing an atmosphere were students and police can interact in a positive way.
Pictured above are students receiving diplomas from Sergeant Rivera, Chief Henry and Mayor Saxton. Also in attendance were Judge Peranteau and School Superintendent Shaffer.
