Mayor DiGirolamo & Bensalem Police Special Investigations Unit Receive Awards

The Bensalem Police Department is proud to announce that Mayor Joe DiGirolamo and members of the Special Investigations Unit received awards yesterday at the 42nd Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, hosted by the Citizens Crime Commission. 

Mayor DiGirolamo received his award for his leadership and dedicated service over his career.  The award was specifically given to him for his unwavering support of law enforcement, commitment to his community, and prioritizing public safety.  The members of the Special Investigations Unit, along with members of the FBI, USPS, and the Bucks DA’s Office, received their award based on a large scale narcotics investigation that resulted in the seizure of over 50 pounds of Methamphetamine, two pounds of crack cocaine, two 9mm handguns, and multiple arrests.
