Arrests Made for Trafficking Heroin in Bensalem
On Saturday, March 2, 2019, Bensalem Township Police Officers executed a search warrant at 1262 Neshaminy Valley Drive as part of an ongoing narcotics trafficking investigation. During the execution of the search warrant, officers located three suspects within the rented apartment. They were identified as Jose NIEVES VELEZ (31), Emanuel RODRIGUES-SANTIAGO (31), and Hamlet BENTACOURT PIMENTEL (38).
Police interrupted the three suspects as they were actively manufacturing, cutting, and packaging the drugs for sale. Police seized hundreds of newly packaged baggies of suspected Heroin/Fentanyl, approximately three Kilograms of Heroin/Fentanyl, numerous scales, rubber bands, stamps, grinders, packaging materials, and approximately $40,000.00 in cash. Police also recovered 2400 ml of Xylazine. This controlled substance is commonly used for sedation of horses and cattle, but can also be used as a cutting agent when mixed with Fentanyl or Heroin. The estimated street value of the narcotics and contraband seized is approximately 4.5 million dollars.
All three defendants were charged with multiple drug violations and remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of one million dollars bail. ICE has placed detainers on Nieves Velez and Rodrigues-Santiago.
