Support Services Commander, Lt. W. Fred Schumann

Lieutenant W. Fred Schumann #22060 is currently the Support Services Commander. He joined the Department in August of 1998. Prior to becoming a police officer, Lt. Schumann was a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Levittown #2 Fire Department and the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad. He also worked as a Paramedic-RN, CEN in the Emergency Room for Lower Bucks Hospital/Temple.

Once joining the Bensalem Township Police Department, he has been an in-house instructor for TASER, Baton, Pepper Spray, Handcuffing and Defensive Tactics. Lieutenant Schumann has been the Lead Firearms Instructor, teaching the proper use of all of the Departments firearms and has been a member of the SWAT Team for 17 years, starting on the Entry Team and finishing as the Sniper Team Leader.

Lt. Schumann was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in August of 2007 and has worked as a Patrol Sergeant with B-Squad and finishing with D-Squad.
